myers-briggs: ????

this past weekend, MAC got together for a girl’s night at megan’s house, which is a little closer to society than i usually am while at school.

we got the shin-dig started on friday and as the night went on, we really, really, really bonded. things got real and raw and confirmed my love for my sweet north georgia trio. although every day is special with them, this particular weekend was monumental to our life-long friendship and a memory i’ll look back on fondly.

of the many topics discussed that night, was the myers-briggs personality test.

i’ve heard of the test in classes and social media and to be completely honest, i looped it into the same category as those buzzfeed “we can tell what your spirit animal is” kind of quizzes.

i see everyone’s letters (results) in their instagram bio’s, figured it was some trendy thing to do and never really gave it a second thought- until now.

now i consider myself weak in the area of complicated written explanations and that is in part because 1. i’m too lazy to write it all out 2. when i do, it either takes forever and/or is a rambling, confusing mess 3. when things can be short and simple- i like them short and simple.

so here’s my understanding of the test- short and simple:

the myers-briggs test is a personality analyzer consisting of a series of questions that best determines one’s personality out of 16 different personality outcomes in reference to 8 different personality traits. Those traits being:

• Introversion (I) or Extraversion (E)
• Intuition (N) or Sensing (S)
• Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
• Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

the explanation on the actual website is much more descriptive and detailed and i highly suggest checking it out.

so, as you may have assumed…i took the test and got my results.

drum roll please…

 

 

 

i’m an esfj (.) (!) (?) lol i don’t really know how to feel.

people swear by the accuracy of this test and as of right now, i would have to agree with most of my result’s descriptors. some of which are described as “extraordinarily caring, social and popular people, always eager to help.

i have to say, the website is extremely helpful, well organized and offers an immense variety of information for every personality result and allows you to “explore your type” to further understand how your personality works in every aspect and stage of life.

knowing myself, i’m probably going to take this test another 10 times to see if i get different results but for now i’ll take what i get and enjoy the slight obsession i’m having with it.
